Sporting a unique modernist look and a strategy rhythm that strips down the genre to its core parts, every facet of Rymdkapsel basks in clean simplicity. While this philosophy makes it a beautiful showpiece and a treat for strategy fans looking for a fresh spin, some of its commitment to that purity takes control away from us in frustrating ways.

The geometric, minimalist style consists of vibrant tetromino-like puzzle shapes that you use to build your base. Interlocking them perfectly a la Tetris is ideal (but not required) to keep the base running as efficiently as possible. As the room shapes are ordered, small minions go to work taking part in various duties like construction, food service, researching monoliths, or defense. Some of the base-building strategy was undermined, though, once I realized I could simply cancel a room I had ordered to get the next shape in the queue. As long as I did it before the minions started building, I wouldn't even suffer a resource penalty.
