Revolution had quite a rocky first year. Despite the very notable resume of those behind it -- including Eric Kripke, J.J. Abrams and Jon Favreau – the series had a lot of trouble firmly establishing exactly what it was about and a consistent tone, after the initial "life after all the power on Earth has gone out" set up, and there were too many murky motivations and characters making frustrating decisions. I enjoyed Revolution a decent amount of the time (certainly more than others it seems), but still, it wasn't hard to see this show needed some major work.
With series creator Kripke acknowledging the flaws, Season 2 begins with something to prove. And the good news is it's come out of the gate strong, with a solid season premiere that manages to revamp the show in notable ways, while still following up what happened before.
