Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Jon Martello is a man of his ways, methodical and absolute even when designing his life to be the most effective romancer on the planet. His priorities — "My body, my pad, my ride, my family, my church, my boys, my porn" — become a daily to do list, with an emphasis on the last item.
Jon really loves pornography, a fantasy gateway that becomes more real to him than any human connection he can make. His mind is always drifting to naked woman with impossibly large breasts, doggy style in a bedroom, bathroom, hospital, or teacher's lounge.
In Don Jon, writer/director Gordon-Levitt grapples with Jon's addiction to explore sexuality, love, and the comfort we can find in our natural state of being. It's a lot easier to escape to porn than figure out what gets someone hot and bothered emotionally.
