Disney's Live-Action Cruella de Vil Movie Oct 1st 2013, 00:16, by Max Nicholson Following in the evil footsteps of Disney's upcoming Maleficent movie, the studio is now prepping a live-action film based on another classic villainess: Cruella de Vil. THR reports that Aline Brosh McKenna, who also wrote Kenneth Branagh's upcoming Cinderella movie, has been tapped to write the screenplay for Cruella, which will bring the fur-worshipping fashionista from 101 Dalmatians to life in a new feature film. The character originated in Dodie Smith's 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians, but was made famous in Disney's 1961 animated movie 101 Dalmatians. This won't be Cruella's first live-action appearance either; Glenn Close portrayed the character in 1996's 101 Dalmatians and its sequel 102 Dalmatians.
