Avengers 2: James Spader Talks Ultron Oct 1st 2013, 00:02, by Max Nicholson It's been about a month since we learned that James Spader will be playing the villainous robot Ultron in Joss Whedon and Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron. During a promo circuit for his new TV show The Blacklist, Spader gave an update on Avengers 2, noting that he's already begun preparing for his role. James Spader was Joss Whedon's First Pick for Ultron "I have spoken to Joss Whedon about it," Spader told The Inquirer. "Just this weekend I went in for them to take very extensive photographs, head scans, body scans, and all kinds of things in preparation for figuring out how the hell I'm gonna fit in this Ultron character!"
