A group of Queens service station/mini-mart employees pool together their money, win the lottery, and soon discover that money doesn't solve problems, it creates new ones. Or something something something. Welcome to ABC's new lotto-tastic dramedy, "Lucky 7" - an ensemble series so riddled with cringe-worthy cliches that it would never stand a chance of surviving on its own if it weren't debuting on the same night and network as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Oh, and it's also based on a British series called The Syndicate, which sounds like it should be about something way more sinister than working class schmoes striking it rich. The two series share actress Lorraine Bruce, who plays "Denise" in both. It should be mentioned though that The Syndicate has run for two seasons and produced only eleven episodes. Because the Brits show restraint and don't drive things into the dirt.
