Will Smith May Still Return for ID4 Sequel Sep 6th 2013, 00:28, by Max Nicholson Could Will Smith still reprise his Independence Day role as Captain Steven Hiller after all? The actor will soon begin talks with director Roland Emmerich to star in Independence Day 2 (tentatively titled ID Forever Part One). In a recent interview with Digital Bits, Emmerich confirmed that discussions are now underway for Smith to return. "I sometimes say no, Will Smith will not be in it because he didn't want to do it at first," Emmerich explained. "Now we have a meeting planned, we want to talk about it again. Anything can happen."
