Stargate Set to be Rebooted as a Movie Trilogy Sep 6th 2013, 02:33, by Lucy O'Brien Independence Day and White House Down director Roland Emmerich has plans to reboot his Stargate franchise as a movie trilogy. Emmerech, one of the co-creators of the original Stargate movie back in 1994, has pitched the reboot of his series to current rights-holder MGM. "We went to MGM...and proposed to them to do a sequel, but as a reboot" Emmerich told Digital Spy. "And reboot it as a movie and then do three parts.
