Microsoft Passed on Heavy Rain Due to Child Kidnapping

2010 PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain was originally turned down by Microsoft due to child kidnapping themes. Director and Quantic Dream founder David Cage revealed the news of Microsoft's hesitation to move forward with the Paris-based studio during yesterday's 2013 BAFTA Annual Games Lecture in London, as reported by Polygon.

Microsoft was apparently interested in working with the French team after the release of Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in North America) in 2005.

"They really loved Fahrenheit," said Cage, "and they really wanted to do something with us."
