Marvel's Thor: The Dark World has had a massively successful opening in the international market, generating $109.4 million at the box office across 36 countries since opening on Wednesday.
In 70% of the total international marketplace, Thor 2 has found its biggest success in the UK, with $13.4 million, followed by France ($9.4 million), and Mexico ($8.2 million). The sequel still has openings in China, Japan, Italy, Argentina and Australia to look forward to, and of course, a North American release on November 8.
The original Thor took in $268.3 total in the foreign market back in 2011, and these early numbers suggest its sequel will eclipse that with ease.
