There are several locations around the world players will be headed to soon for the first time in the Gran Turismo series, like California's Willow Springs or Australia's Mount Panorama. It appears, however, there's one new location in Gran Turismo 6 that is, in fact, out of this world. Literally.
Scanning the car list unveiled today shows Gran Turismo 6 will feature a vehicle dubbed the Lunar Roving Vehicle LEV-001 '71, which appears to be based on 1971's Apollo 15 Lunar Roving Vehicle. A brief glimpse of a pair of astronauts hooning about in a "moon buggy" at the end of a teaser trailer released today hints the vehicle may be drivable on the moon's surface. How much fun the gimmick will ultimately turn out to be isn't exactly clear; given the GT series' commitment to realism it's probably unlikely we'll be exceeding astronaut Eugene Cernan's unofficial lunar land-speed record of a whopping 11.2mph (18.0 km/h).
