Ant-Man Co-Writer to Direct Next Trek Movie? Nov 2nd 2013, 19:56, by Jim Vejvoda British writer-director Joe Cornish is reportedly Paramount's pick to direct Star Trek 3 now that J.J. Abrams is firmly entrenched in helming Star Wars: Episode VII. While Deadline claims it's "early days on this," Cornish -- the director of the low-budget sci-fi flick Attack the Block -- is the one Paramount and financier Skydance Productions want to direct Trek 3, which is slated to begin filming summer 2014.
