Dracula: "Pilot" Review

Advance review (some plot details follow): NBC's revamp (yep) of Bram Stoker's classic seems to ask and answer a rather strange question: What if Julian Assange - founder of WikiLeaks - had actually been born Vlad III, prince of Wallachia?

There are times, and this is certainly one of them, when a score that translates to "weird" is in order. Though Dracula pulls key elements and characters from the source material, the re-imagined version paints the infamous impaler as less of a centuries-old, haunted, and brooding monster, and more of a crusader against what amounts to...predatory corporate greed. That's simplifying things a bit, but isn't too far off the mark.
