With Andy Maguire going from insufferable douchebag to immensely likeable douchebag in all of three issues, Joshua Hale Fialkov now gets to enjoy putting him through the paces of more typical superhero fare, only now you'll cheer him on as he fights monsters and the like. It wasn't long ago that the idea of an Alpha mini-series seemed like a preposterous idea, but here we are with one issue left to go and it's better than anyone could have hoped. Simply put, Alpha is the man.
