One of the challenges with company-owned superhero comics is creating a sense of danger and uncertainty with characters who are pretty much always guaranteed to live and fight another day. Wolverine probably isn't going to actually die as a result of "Killable." He's still alive and reasonably well in the many other X-books, including the Battle of the Atom crossover. But that challenge is something Paul Cornell has managed well with this arc. The sense of doom and gloom and Logan's world only grows deeper with issue #10, leaving readers to wonder just how insurmountable the odds can become before the end.
