Charles Soule is on fire with his Swamp Thing run and with this oversized issue he creates a whole new layer to the already expansive mythology of the Green. He uses every single panel of every single page to add more depth to the Green and more character to Alec Holland. With Javier Pina on art providing one breathtakingly beautiful piece of imagery after another, Swamp Thing Annual #2 becomes a lesson in how to do a comic book right. This issue does cost $4.99 for its extra pages, but it's so good I would have paid double.
