Boardwalk Empire shook itself off this week and broke free of its minor mid-season dip with "The Old Ship of Zion" - an episode highlighted by an intense confrontation between Chalky and Dr. Narcisse and a violent (and deadly) altercation between Chalky and Dunn. Following last week's stabbing of Deacon Cuffy, this episode saw Chalky start to wise-up to the conspiracy unfolding around him - as he too shook off his haze and saw things more clearly than before. And a lot of it had to do with the way his old constituents were looking at him in church for the Deacon's memorial service - as if it was he who had ordered the nefarious deed done.
