Pokémon Unlikely to Get Microtransactions or DLC

Game Freak has spoken out about the possibility of Microtransactions and DLC coming to Pokémon in the future, as well as revealed how long it takes to create a new monster.

In an interview with VG247, director Junichi Masuda admitted that he isn't keen on seeing DLC or Microtransactions added to the franchise, as he would prefer to ship a complete package that won't extort money from younger players.

"One key point obviously is that Pokémon is played a lot by children, and in Japan it's got a rating where everyone can play it, an 'E' rating in America and Europe is slightly stricter," he explained. "It's very important for us that as many people as possible are able to play the Pokémon games in a safe environment.
