Sony Talks Attitude to Companion Apps

Sony has discussed how it plans to keep abreast of the increasingly prevalent mobile and tablet markets, and talked about how it hopes to encourage people to move from there onto consoles.

In an interview with Games Industry, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida revealed that PlayStation 4-exclusive Knack would be getting a free iOS companion and that this was part of the company's new initiative when it comes to tackling the mobile and tablet market.

"We've totally shifted our way of thinking," he revealed. "Through the companion apps, the official PlayStation app and game dedicated apps... In some cases, we're creating small games that go with PS4 titles. We're releasing a puzzle game themed around Knack that you can play for free.
