The new drama Parkland recounts the chaos in Dallas that stemmed from President John F. Kennedy's assassination there in 1963. Employing multiple accounts, Parkland focuses on the eyewitnesses and those medical and law enforcement personnel called upon to deal with the killing's aftermath.
The film specifically follows the doctors and nurses at Parkland Hospital (including Zac Efron, Colin Hanks, and Marcia Gay Harden) where JFK was brought following the shooting; the Secret Service agents, including Billy Bob Thornton as Dallas chief Forrest Sorrels and Tom Welling as Roy Kellerman, one of JFK's personal security detail; and Abraham Zapruder (Paul Giamatti), whose film of the assassination became the most examined piece of evidence in the case.
