This weekend's new releases proved no match for reigning champ Gravity at the domestic box office. The space survival drama remained the No. 1 movie in North America for the third weekend in a row with an estimated $31 million.
This month's only Halloween-friendly release Carrie performed slightly less than expected, bowing in third place with $17 million.
Meanwhile, it was another box office disappointment for action heavyweights Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger as their team-up thriller Escape Plan opened in fifth place with $9.8 million.
