Okay, I don't want to belabor a point (about to) but I really am appreciating the sense of cohesion on this show week to week. "The Slump" was all about accepting your own limitations, asking for help, and caressing old-lady ass. Often ensemble comedies, partially by necessity, have their various characters venture off into separate hijinks only to reconvene at the close of the half-hour to debrief, or collectively learn a valuable lesson. That's a fine structure, and works well enough, but I'm enjoying Brooklyn Nine-Nine's thematic throughlines each week.
