AQM_Cv24_gaap0z782a_Geoff Johns certainly has a knack for delivering backstory in a compelling manner. This whole issue is a big history lesson about the secret origin of Atlantis, and the way Johns has structured his long form Aquaman story allows him to fill it with several juicy bits of trivia as well as a status-quo altering secret. We learn where the golden artifacts came from, how Atlantis fell into the sea, and where the sunken nation got its name. All that is well and good, but the best part of this issue has to be the return of Aquaman's lush golden beard.
