All-New X-Men Special #1 kicks off "The Arms of the Octopus," Marvel's latest attempt at telling a crossover tale through three interconnected one-shots. While previous crossovers of this sort have never been anything to write home about, this issue suggests things might be different this time around. As usual, the trick is really all in finding the right creative team for the job. In this case that team consists of writer Mike Costa, penciller/inker Kris Anka, and colorist Jordie Bellaire. All three are talented on their own, and all three work very well together here.
