anxmen17There is something wonderful about getting a whole new group of future X-Men halfway through Battle of the Atom. It was wholly unexpected and by all rights a bad idea given how many other time-travelling mutants are already in this story, yet it's a pure joy to suss out who is who and how they got that way -- especially how Iceman became a wizard. By beginning to pull the curtain back on why the questionable/evil X-Men went back in time in the first place, Brian Michael Bendis puts his fun creations to use by honing his expansive story into something sharp.
