This is actually a few weeks old but it's making the rounds today and it's both funny and interesting. Star Trek Into Darkness director and Hollywood wunderkind J.J. Abrams was asked recently about his use of lens flare in his films, a stylistic, um, flare that has become sort of a running joke among fans. Abrams, it seems, is in on the joke too.
"I know I get a lot of grief for that," Abrams laughed when asked by Crave. "But I'll tell you, there are times when I'm working on a shot, I think, 'Oh this would be really cool… with a lens flare.' But I know it's too much, and I apologize. I'm so aware of it now."
