Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
With True Blood Season 6 only being 10 episodes, I'm eagerly anticipating a tighter, less flighty season. Sure, last week's premiere featured a lot of boring over-explaining and some unbelievable snap character decisions, but the follow up, "The Sun," thankfully moved things along in ways that made it feel like the seasonal stories were taking shape for the first time.
For one thing (also part of the show's rubber band effect regarding its characters), Eric turned back into something more resembling his old ruthless self. Turns out, all you needed to make that side of him return was to shut down his bar and attack the prodigy of his prodigy with new anti-vampire tech. Anyhow, in what was the most enjoyable part of this episode, Eric dressed up - LIKE A NERD, FOLKS! - and went to visit Governor Burrell, posing as an advocate for the whooping crane. It reminded me of when Bill, in Kill Bill: Vol. 2, explained his theory of how Clark Kent's dweeby ineptness was a reflection of how Superman saw humans. Same thing here, really.
