David Sears, the former SOCOM director, is looking to bring tactical shooting back to its PlayStation 2-era roots with H-Hour: World's Elite. His new development house, SOF Studios, is seeking $200,000 via Kickstarter to create a prototype to prove its worth to potential investors.
The shooter draws on SOCOM's third-person shooting with first-person options, as well as high levels of lethality, and emphasizes teamwork -- it's multiplayer-centric, after all. This project comes one year after Sears' departure from Ubisoft Montreal, where he was the creative director on Rainbow 6: Patriots, which has recently been rumored to have been canceled.
