Note: Full spoilers for the Da Vinci's Demons: Season 1 finale follow.
We open with the Sons of Mithras convening thirteen years prior to current events on the outskirts of Constantinople. Seeing the various "Sons" gathered together in one place really put the grandeur of the series over-arcing narrative into perspective. Each of the four members we see here represents different religions, societies and ideologies, yet they're driven together by a greater purpose set in motion centuries prior. However, I'm not sure I liked the teasing of da Vinci as a "chosen one" in this scene. The "one" is an overused plot mechanic that I was hoping this series would avoid, yet we've seen signs pointing towards this inevitability throughout the first season and the finale seems to be sticking to that concept. The good news is that da Vinci doesn't seem to be too fond of the concept either.
