Things are heating up for Universal's Fifty Shades of Grey. Hanna director Joe Wright is now said to be in negotiations to helm feature adaptation, based on the sex-fueled best-selling novel by E.L. James.
According to THR, a deal is not yet in place, but rumor has it that Wright is the studio's current favorite.
Having successfully directed numerous projects featuring young female protagonists -- Hanna's Saorise Ronan and Anna Karenina's Keira Knightley among them -- Wright seems like a fitting choice for Fifty Shades, which centers on the S&M relationship between college student Anastasia Steele and billionaire playboy Christian Grey.
