FOX have made their new drama series pick ups for the next TV season, and they involve a lot of familiar names if you're a fan of Fringe or J.J. Abrams in general. Abrams himself is executive producing Almost Human, a new series that will read team him with the creator JH Wyman who served his showrunner on French. That sci-fi series focuses on a cop teamed with a robot partner.
Meanwhile, Abrams' two fellow Fringe co-creators (and frequent collaborators), Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman also have a new FOX series, Sleep Hollow. This new version of the classic tale, includes a big twist on the story, as Ichabod Crane is transported to the modern day.
While neither Abrams nor any of his frequent writing producer partners are involved in the cop drama, Gang Related, it does star Terry O'Quinn, who of course worked with Abrams on Lost. The fourth and final new FOX drama series, Rake is the only one with no Abrams connection whatsoever. It stars Greg Kinnear as an attorney, in what's been described as a House-like drama.
