This is a curious little title, because it feels just like it's a continuation of Captain Marvel proper. Not a tie-in, but rather this should just be an issue of Captain Marvel. It's strange that it's broken off like this, but hey, more Carol Danvers is never a bad thing, so we'll just go with it. If you find yourself confused with this first issue, go read Captain Marvel because most of what we get here has been set up in that series. Also, you should be reading Captain Marvel because it's really, really good.
