Unless you've got a soul shrouded in darkness (or are simply lacking one altogether), you've probably got fond memories of the classic 1960s Batman television show starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Though the show only lasted a handful of seasons and one feature film, it was a pop culture phenomenon that wound up resonating for generations; you can still catch reruns on TV, and its influence on Batman: The Brave and the Bold is immediately clear.
With DC Comics continuing their initiative of digital-first comic book releases on the DC Comics app, the publisher is finally bringing this campy incarnation of Batman to the modern comic book page in a spiritual continuation of the show. Written by Jeff Parker, covers by Mike Allred, and a first issue drawn by Jonathan Case, this is shaping up to be a fun take on the series most of us grew up with.
