Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
Well, they sure weren't kidding with the title of this season finale. "All Change" gave the big ash tree a mighty shake and things weren't the same after the branches stopped bouncing. It's too bad that this series has opted for mostly giving us objective, "fly on the wall" snapshots of our character's lives or else I might have cared more that Thyri and Gyda died when the plague hit Ragnar's people. As it stands, I cared that Gyda died because Lagertha cared, but the Vikings can get a bit frustrating with the way their religious superstitions govern everything. It's one of those characteristics that's both interesting and maddening, as it's both easy enough to place an "omen" in someone's path or have that someone, say, do a complete "180" based on very little information.
