redsonja4Red Sonja is in very capable hands these days. We are four issues into Gail Simone and Walter Geovani's reboot of the she-devil with a sword and so far it has been great. Fans of bloody, action -packed fantasy will find lots to love here. Whether you are a long time Sonja fan or new to the character, this is a series you should be reading. That's right, Red Sonja #4 is freaking wonderful.

Gail Simone is natural in this world. Red Sonja's brand of fantasy has always been a bit ugly, and Simone embraces that. She also injects a fair amount or humor into these pages, which fits surprisingly well in between all the violent beheadings. The best bits in this issue come when a blinded Sonja takes out a murderous group of mutant fish people. It's cool, funny, and brutal.
