After a six year hiatus, Phoenix Wright returns to the courtroom with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. When we last saw the famous defense attorney his successor Apollo Justice had cleared Phoenix's name in the case that had led to his disbarment. The new game picks up one year later, as Phoenix Wright resumes his career in protecting the innocent.
The E3 demo case follows in the aftermath of a bombing at the courthouse. It seems someone planted a bomb in a stuffed elephant that was being used as a piece of evidence, devastating the courtroom mid-trial.
A witness in the original trial named Juniper Woods is accused of being the bomber after her fingerprints are found on the stuffed elephant's tail, which managed to survive the blast. Apollo Justice, who took a starring role in the last Ace Attorney game, is now sporting an eye patch and arm sling as he urges Phoenix Wright to take the case and prove Juniper's innocence.
