The Purge Tops Weekend Box Office Jun 9th 2013, 22:26 Audiences opted for horror over comedy this weekend as The Purge trounced fellow new release The Internship at the domestic box office. The thriller starring Ethan Hawke, which reportedly had a mere $3 million budget, debuted in first place with an estimated $36.4 million, while the Vince Vaughn-Owen Wilson vehicle opened in fourth place with $18.1 million.
