Pixar, Pitt Topple Man of Steel at Box Office Jun 23rd 2013, 21:59 The Pixar prequel Monsters University dethroned Man of Steel as the king of the domestic box office this weekend. Monsters U bowed with $82 million, making it Pixar's second-biggest opening ever behind Toy Story 3's $110.3 million debut in 2010. Monsters U made another $54.5 million abroad. Meanwhile, the Superman reboot dropped to third place with $41.2 million. But fret not, fanboys, Man of Steel is a huge hit.
