Thunderbolts needed a big boost after a lackluster opening arc. Fortunately, it received one in the form of new artist Phil Noto. Noto's style is clean and simple, not unlike previous artist Steve Dillon's. But the key difference is that Noto's style actually fits the vibe of the Marvel Universe. He's able to provide a steady stream of clean, expressive action as the team do battle with a fleet of Crimson Dynamo knock-offs, as well as more dialogue-driven scenes and a quirky little dream sequence involving Venom. Other than the fact that the hair styles and certain other facial details are inconsistent, the book is on much firmer visual footing in this second arc.
