New Girl: "Winston's Birthday" Review

Picking up the morning after Nick and Jess's steamy night of passion, this week's New Girl turned down the heat with an ill-timed pop-in from Jess' father Bob (played once again by Rob Reiner). Here, Bob and Nick spent some quality bonding time together, as Nick tried to tiptoe around the subject of last night's escapades. This made for some fun interplay between Nick and Bob, including Nick's description of the anti-Jess, who is apparently named Yolanda Winston. (Let us not forget that Bob still consistently refers to our Winston as "Wilson.")

And while Bob and Nick were hanging out doing guy stuff (aka, not documents), Jess had found herself a new teaching gig, which turned out to be a less-than-stellar substitute position. While the actual classroom scenes weren't all that entertaining, it was amusing to see Jess frantically balance this new job and preparing for Cece's wedding. I especially enjoyed Jess's stern talking to over the phone with Cece's uncle: "Shashir, you son of a bitch. You little son of a bitch, it is not your day!"
