Anyone familiar with Geoff Johns' writing will recognize this issue for what it is: pure setup. Aquaman has a giant sea monster friend, a captured Atlantean was curiously left alive by the Scavenger, and Murk has a big secret. Yet even though it's clear to longtime Johns readers as to what he's doing, he still makes it a blast to read because you're never quite sure what is going to come of all these machinations.
