MLB 2K13 Perfect Game Challenge Off to Strong Start

The first week of Major League Baseball 2K13's Perfect Game Challenge has seen 300,000 gamers' attempts at a chance for a $25,000 cash prize. Of those attempts, 892 have been verified as "perfect" games, pitched by 617 unique players.

This year, there are 30 lots of $25,000 to be won. The competition encourages gamers to pitch a perfect game according to specific settings and requirements, as listed on the 2K Games website. A "perfect game" is defined by one in which no opposing batters reach base; the entrant finishes the game with his original starting pitcher; and the entrant's team wins the game.

Last year's finalists have dominated the first week of the challenge, with 2012 runner-up Charlie Bates currently topping the leaderboard.
