While I appreciate that Parker and Hardy investigated the Joe Carroll case from a different angle this week - i.e. anything not involving Joey and/or Claire - there isn't much this show can do at this point to make it not feel like it's stretching out a premise that wasn't quite built to last. I actually would have been okay with episode 7, "Let Me Go" (where Joe escaped), being the Season 1 finale, because keeping this series to shorter tighter seasons is probably the best way to execute it. Even last week's episode "Guilt," with Claire finally handing herself over to Joe's disciples, would have made for an appropriate way to leave things off. I don't know, maybe I'm just looking for a way to sectionalize this show a bit so the misery doesn't weigh down on the viewer.
