Episode VII Will Be Shot on 35mm

We've heard that J.J. Abrams wants to stay old-school with Star Wars: Episode VII, with rumors even indicating that he was trying to match the specific look of the film stock George Lucas used on the original Star Wars films. And now, confirmation has come that the filmmaker will in fact use 35mm film on the picture.

The Boba Fett Fan Club attended an industry event today where cinematographer Dan Mindel confirmed that not only is he shooting Episode VII for Abrams, but he will do so on traditional 35mm film rather than digitally. To get even more specific, they'll be using Kodak film stock 5219 (if that means anything to you).
