Producer Avi Arad is a veteran of bringing superheroes to the big screen having shepherded Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Blade back when he ran Marvel Studios. Arad has in recent years turned his attention towards trying to get several video game movies off the ground, most notably Uncharted, Mass Effect and Metal Gear Solid. Arad gave a status update on those projects while doing press in Beijing.
"I think Uncharted will be very successful. It's a father and son game. There are things about it that are interesting. I think the world of antiquities theft, there are many countries in the world that realised they're being robbed and they're trying to recoup these important pieces," Arad told Kotaku of his hopes for the video game movie.
