Robot Unicorn Attack 2 improves upon almost every aspect of the original. The concept has been expanded far beyond its initial tongue-in-cheek roots, and those changes serve to make it come together as a better cohesive whole. The absurdist humor that captured so much attention the first time around feels less frech, but this sequel a much better actual game.
Like the first game, RUA2 is an endless runner in which a robotic unicorn must jump across platforms and crash through star barriers. The first game had finely-tuned jumping, and in that light, very little has changed about the core experience. This one feels almost identical to the original, save the addition of enemies that force the player to think fast. While star barriers were always passive, these new giants actually fire before you reach them, making for a much more aggressive obstacle that demands more of the player.
