Inside a cold sound stage at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California, Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper is fighting with an animatronic chicken. Next to him inside the decrepit looking apartment is Ed Helms, who ducks as two live chickens come flying at his head. Zach Galifianakis, meanwhile, is rolling on the floor in pain, having tripped over a pile of crates which were, up until a moment ago, holding the angry chickens. On the bed, screaming loudly and firing a gun in the general direction of Bradley's head is Ken Jeong, dressed resplendently as his famous character, Mr. Chow. Yes, the Wolf Pack is back together, and getting into trouble with animals for the last time.
It's late November in 2012, right before Thanksgiving, and it's shooting day 42 of 60 on The Hangover Part III. The set on the sound stage is doubling for Tijuana, Mexico, one of the many locations the characters will visit in this final installment of the franchise. In between shooting the chicken scene, the cast took time out to talk to a small group of journalists, including IGN. Helms and Galifianakis invited us into their trailers, offering drinks and snacks. Cooper, Jeong, writer-director Todd Phillips and cowriter Craig Mazin talked to us in a corner of the stage during their breaks. In each interview, the cast was tight-lipped about revealing any details, glancing over their shoulders at the film's unit publicist to make sure they weren't ruining any surprises for their beloved fans.
