"Dracarys," indeed.
What an awesome, crowd-pleasing closing scene. Yes, last season's finale also showed Dany using the old "roasting someone alive" trick, but it was an act of self-defense, coming after a season of her clawing her way back up the Essos social ladder. The satisfying scorching of Master Kraznys was deliberate and pre-meditated, giving Dany a new shrewd, cruel edge that we'd always hope she'd discover. Yes, she pretty much pulled a double-cross, after us listening to her complain the particular ethics of Astapor, but we forgive because she sees the entire attack as the emancipation of slaves. And the show made certain to show us, time after time, that Kraznys was a disrespectful clod.
