Da Vinci's Demons: "The Serpent" Review

"The Serpent" picks up soon after the end of the series premiere with Nico, Zoroaster and Vanessa breaking into a graveyard to recover the corpse of the hanged man. Da Vinci, a man of abundant talents, performs an autopsy on the body, which recovers a thumbnail and, more importantly, a key. The next clue.

Much like "The Hanged Man", Da Vinci's wealth of knowledge and ability is on full display and is equaled only by his arrogance. His contractual agreement with Lorenzo to produce weapons for Florence to defend itself proves a little difficult as Da Vinci almost blows himself up in the process. Lorenzo's patience with Da Vinci has proven to be a little surprising considering that Da Vinci was initially seen as little more than a pest at the beginning of last week's episode. Lorenzo seems to have developed an admiration for Da Vinci's unusual talents but he's also fueled by concerns for the defense of Florence. The fact that they are also sleeping with the same woman who also happens to be working behind both their backs makes the entire relationship entertaining and filled with potential.
