If you're trying to login to Hammerpoint Interactive's The War Z right now then you'll be sorely disappointed. The servers are currently down, and per a forum post from a Hammerpoint community manager, "it is very difficult to give a good time frame of when it will be resolved."
The issue? A destributed denial of service attack, or DDoS. Server issues apparently started a few days ago, as the aforementioned community manager stated on the forums that, "we have been under attack by various forums of malicious attempts to shut down our servers." The first attempt, "hit with an attack that would rest our DNS IP so that you could not connect," and was resolved in short order. This new DDoS attack hits the login server, and the team is still trying to figure out how they'll fix it. We'll update as more details become available.
